About GCC Vassar
Vassar Chapter of Global China Connection (GCC Vassar), founded in Spring of 2011, is a grassroots student organization that hopes to carry out the GCC goals that promote understanding and collaboration among young Chinese and international scholars.
Currently there are over 200 student organizations at Vassar College, but none is directly associated with topics on China. There is a significant demand for organized discussion on Chinese current affairs, which is evident in the popularity of Sino-related courses at Vassar. Thus, our GCC chapter will provide an environment for organized student-led discussions and further understanding of social, political, and economic aspects of modern China.
Our Goals
- Learn and discuss about current China-related topics and develop good analytic skills to make informed opinions
- Host regular workshops and panel lectures to hear from prominent individuals
- Provide networking opportunities with outstanding student leaders and professionals across the U.S. and other parts of the world, especially China,
- Improve students’ communications skills and opportunities for idea exchange via delegation trips to in-group conferences and collaborative events with other school
Remember, Vassar GCC Chapter is NOT exclusive to Chinese!! We welcome EVERY TALENT who is interested in BEING and NETWORKING with MOTIVATED future leaders. If you want to be a part of GCC Vassar, or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at gccvassar@gmail.com
